Slow Fish Introduction

To know and understand fish, to eat locally and seasonally, to be able to tell stories of fish and to learn how to slow fish consumption.

Slow Fish was initiated in Genova, Italy in 2013, which was inspired by Slow Food. As the most severe harms to the ocean comes from the consumers' ignorance about seafood, it is important to learn the stories behind fish, the fishing methods and how to consume fish the right way before tasting.

Slow Food Community has dedicated to the "Sustainable Fishing" field for many years. The concept has also been accepted by "Slow Fish Fair and Development Program" in the biennale held in Genova, Italy to raise awareness of seafood lovers and to support Responsible Handmade-tool Fishing Community. Meanwhile, members of the network also work on organizing local events around the world, with the 3 core concepts "supreme quality," "clean" and "fair" as the central ideas of Slow Fish.
